I'm clean to the cardio/toning item so how abundant pounds should my dumbells be?

I don't wanna bulk I want lean toned arms. Thanks!! I recommend very low weights. For me its 5 pound for toning and I use 1 pound wrist and ankle weights beside my cardio. Do lots of repetitions with them low substance + high reps = tone. Between these two it seem to help tone my legs and arms. I do seriously of running too that is great for legs and bum. Just net sure you diet is balanced and don't over do it.
If it is a class you are taking try 2 1/2 pounds, it you are lifting on your own try 5. You will know if is too much. The other ladies surrounded by my class, the beginners, start at 2 1/2, and then not more than 5
