I started my spell yesterday, but it come out brown and I've only be spotting little by little?

I'm 28, I've had period since I was 11. My interview is, why is it coming out brown and not red? Why is it just coming out little by little? Could it own anything to do with the certainty that I am obese? I also want to add that my period are never regular. Please help me out! Thank you. You could freshly be spotting.
